Top 10 innovations that will change the world of logistics in 2020. Part 1.

The European blog resource TransMetrics highlighted the TOP-10 important innovative logistics trends:

1️⃣Supply chain management in real time.
Real-time supply chain (SCV) has ceased to be a “technological highlight” or a “wonder” in logistics. Real-time data is now more in demand by more and more customers, and that means logistics and supply chain management companies need to focus on it.
2️⃣The growing importance of new models and new players on the market. New systems that include elements of the sharing economy are rapidly gaining popularity. Without extensive experience with logistics assets, startups tend to focus on the lighter parts of the supply chain as they transform. Thanks to more flexible operations, they can offer more attractive prices, ensuring transparency of the logistics process.
3️⃣Robotization of warehouse operations. One of the obvious innovations is warehouse robotics. Thanks to machine learning technologies and sensors that provide extreme accuracy and ease of tracking, a large number of autonomous robots will appear in modern warehouses.
4️⃣Artificial and augmented intelligence.
Over the past few years, the logistics industry has begun to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) solutions into their operations, including intelligent transportation, route planning, and demand planning. Augmented reality and augmented intelligence will be no less actively used. Augmented intelligence combines human intelligence with automated artificial intelligence processes.
5️⃣Digital doubles.
Digital twins (digital copies of a physical object or process) are perhaps one of the most exciting trends in logistics technology. Now the physical and digital worlds can be merged into one, allowing us for the first time to interact with a digital model of a physical object or part in the same way as with their physical counterparts.
